![]() That is really a thread for two (similar) games, but made by the same team. I think this entire time I took one break for six month and that was mostly because my PC was dead. I haven't taken a break from doing that since release. Sometimes I'll play an entire month non-stop (well I sleep/take breaks and stuff, but you know what I mean lol), sometimes every day and usually hop on once or twice a week. And I really thought I made a post on Forgotten Spore at one point in time, but maybe I decided not to as I didn't see it in search.īut secretly, I've still been playing Spore this entire time its been out. Yeah Spore is kinda old now (not really THAT old) and was definitely not what it said it was going to be. Their Youtube channel (some videos of the game, some animation stuff they have done. and their patreon campaign to keep doing Spore stuff and (probably mostly) for Cell Evolve) The Website (the website for Forgotten Spore is a bit weird, it acts weird on Chrome.not the greatest website)Īnd the latest (its a beta) version for Forgotten SporeĪnd the definitely in development and nowhere near alpha (as far as I know, but their website is very bare bones so not anything to talk about) Cell Evolve: Here is the one good video I can find of it: Honestly not sure all the features, but it adds a ton of fun. Its pretty much a huge upgrade from Forgotten Spore. You can however find the link to Titan Spore 2016 here: The links most likely won't work (or barely), and nearly all the downloads have been removed. Maps inspired by different biomes would be cool.(edit: Everything past this edit is old. Dividing color palettes into a base color, a belly/counterhsading color, and a pattern/detail for the back would result in more attractive and naturalistic-looking creatures. There’s a bajillion paint options but no countershading, which seems like an oversight. Maybe a poison spitter like in classic Spore would make more sense as a ranged weapon option.ĭigitigrade legs should be thicker where they connect to the body, and thinner towards the extremities. Horns don’t really do anything (still not sure what the “shoot” ability is supposed to do), and fire breath is overpowered. Would be nice if the mouths connected to the bodies more smoothly, and if ears and horns could attach directly to the heads. Why is the pig-like mouth solely carnivorous, while the pelican mouth is herbivorous? Why are there not more beak options in general, when there are like four non-avian theropod jaws? I got excited because I thought the claw-foot was a beak, only to realize it was a foot. I know this is in part due to the crowdsourced nature of the programming, but some of the mouths bother me. I’m excited to try the multiplayer mode, but there definitely needs to be a chat filter. Really fun, but I also see lots of room for improvements. I’ve been on the lookout for Spore-like games. PLAY: When you’re finished designing your creature, you can bring it to life! Traverse lush forests, swim in the ocean or fly high above the clouds - your creature will procedurally animate to adapt to its environment.PAINT: Change the color of your creature’s body and attached body parts, as well as the pattern and texture of your creature’s skin. ![]() Altering your creature then changes its statistics (e.g., weight, speed, health etc.) and attaching certain body parts gives it special abilities (e.g., flying, swimming, biting etc.). BUILD: Customize the shape of your creature by manipulating its spine and attaching transformable body parts. The creation tool consists of three different modes: If you’re just interested in creating creatures, however, then simply switch over to creative mode and everything will already be unlocked! You can then use your newly acquired abilities to complete quests to earn cash and re-invest into your creature. Inspired by Spore's creature stage, the core gameplay loop involves constructing creatures to explore hand-crafted worlds and collecting body parts and patterns to further upgrade your creature. Create your own creatures to explore online worlds with friends and collect new parts to upgrade your stats and abilities! Complete quests, battle enemies or just have fun roleplaying - the possibilities are endless when your imagination is the limit!
